Meet the Chief Commissioner

Shri. Shaik Khader Rahman

Shri S.K. Rahman, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 1992 batch, took charge as Chief Commissioner of CGST & Customs, Thiruvananthapuram Zone in March 2025, with jurisdiction over Kerala and Lakshadweep. Having served across India from Tuticorin to Delhi and Mumbai to Guntur, he has also worked with the Government of Maldives and Tanzania in matters related to Customs Administration. With 32 years of distinguished service, he has played key roles in tax enforcement (GST, Customs), anti-smuggling, policy-making (as Joint Secretary to the GST Council), developing IT architecture for Officers and Tax payers (in his role in Directorate of Systems) and representing the Government as defense counsel in CESTAT. A recipient of the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (2008), WCO Certificate of Merit (2011), and NCB DG’s Commendation Medal (1995), he has been an esteemed speaker, faculty member, and industry expert, addressing trade bodies like FIEO,CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and PHD Chamber.
